Hey y'all! Let's go to the game!  A Tennessee Smokies baseball game, that is!!!  Enjoy an exciting day of sports action along with all the excitement that goes along with it! There's something for the whole family! Whether you're a baseball fan or not, you'll have the time of your life watching the Tennessee Smokies play!  Personally, I've never been a huge fan of baseball, but I had to have the "big game" experience!  I must admit I had the time of my life!  Sure the team played some good baseball, but there were also a lot of other thrills along the way!

THE STADIUMBut before we get into those adventures, let's take a look at the Tennessee Smokies Baseball Stadium!  It's sits majestically on the hill just below the I-40 exit in the small community of Kodak! (just like the camera!) It's a "hop & skip" from Sevierville, Tn.  It was built in the year 2000 with a capacity of 6,000 fans!  There are two main entrances on each side of home plate.  There's a concourse built all around the field making it easy for fans to get around easily. There are stadium-style seats complete with cup holders for your seating comfort, or you can purchase tickets on the bleachers, which is what I was on!  I thought they were pretty comfortable as well.  Because the grandstand sits on a hillside, there's not a bad seat in the house! Delicious snacks are available, right down to a wholesome meal at the Double Play cafe.

THE GAME - Stand up and cheer!  These guys really know how to play baseball!  From the first inning to the ninth, you'll be at the edge of your seat roaring for the team!  The Tennessee Smokies take the game seriously, of course, and winning is their goal.  However, these players enjoy playing almost as hard as working!  Sure, it gets tough out there, but when you're playing with friends, and carry that "good old Smoky Mountain team spirit, it shows!  All the players know their game! It's easy to choose a personal favorite player when large photos are displayed on the scoreboard, and stats are revealed.

Attending a Tennessee Smokies baseball game always means you're a winner!  While watching the team swing into action, remember where you're seated! You might just be sitting in a winning section!  Not only do you have an opportunity to become a winner, the kids can compete in games on the field!  Not only is this exciting for children, but it's lots of fun to watch.  From sack races to running with the "Smokies" chicken mascot, it's a show you'll not want to miss!  If I remember correctly, there's even a little friendly competition for interested adults! However, everyone is a winner when they go to a Tennessee Smokies game!  On one particular night upon leaving, every fan in the stadium received a card for a free Frosty from Wendy's!

ENTERTAINMENT - You'll find plenty of entertainment here!  All season, the stadium features exciting promotions like "Bring your dog to the game" day!  There are famous-name concerts after some of the games, however tickets need to be purchased for these events. There have been popular folk show up at the games unannounced.  I attended a game last year that featured comedy entertainment!  The show was great and lots of folks were laughing in the isles!  At one point, the comedian and  a group of guys went onto the playing field and performed crazy antics that included this really crazy dance.   I couldn't believe I was having this much fun at a baseball game!

The baseball season starts in April and goes through August.  If you're able to plan your Smoky Mountain Vacation during baseball season, attend a game, or two! It's fun for the whole family, and when you go to the game...you're sure to come up a winner!
