 An Easter celebration in the Great Smoky Mountains offers a beautiful spiritual awakening!

OBER GATLINBURG EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE is one of the Great Smoky Mountain's most beautiful and most spiritual Easter celebrations.  People all over the world from different denominations gather to see the beauty of the sun rising over the mountains.  Christian pastors from the Gatlinburg Ministerial Administration are on hand to share the word of God.  The mountains come alive with song and praise in the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior.  For additional information call Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort and Amusement Park at 865-436-5423, or e-mail any questions you may have at fun@obergatlinburg.com.

  • The sunrise service begins at 6:30 A.M.  Start out early!  Crowds are large and tram lines are long.  
  • This is an annual event in Gatlinburg at Ober Gatlinburg Sik Resort.
  • There is no cost!  The tram ride is free for this event.
  • A breakfast buffet is available from 7:15 A.M. until 10:30 A.M.  Cost for adults is $14.95 plus tax, $12.95 plus tax for children 10  and under.  Children under 4 eat free.
  • Pastors of the Gatlinburg Ministrial Association are the speakers
  • An offering is taken by the association to help with community needs.

Going to church is a perfect Activity Holiday choice during Easter.  Because the Great Smoky Mountains area is located inside the "Bible Belt" there are there are many different churches and denominations to choose from.  The majority of these churches are Christian.  They glorify God by presenting the truth of the Almighty God as the Holy Bible teaches.  Easter is a special time of year!  Many churches are filled to capacity with people dressed in their "Sunday Best"  move forward to praise the living Savior who bore our sins by dying on an old rugged cross, shedding His blood, and miraculously rising again the third day so that we may know Him as our personal savior and live forever in Heaven.   Whether you're visiting the area during Easter, or during any season of the year, our area churches welcome you!

Hunting for eggs is a popular Easter celebration.  The Smoky Mountains community comes together to bring lots of fun and creativity to this colorful event.  Most of the area churches host an Egg Hunt on the Saturday before Easter. The Pigeon Forge Community Center hosts an egg hunting event with the Easter Bunny himself!  You may also want to enjoy brunch with the Easter Bunny at the Old Mill Pottery House Cafe and Grill.  This event is from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.  Afterwards, children participate in fun Easter activities and are given an opportunity to win door prizes.  Tickets are purchased for this event.  For more information call 865-453-6002.

  • Easter Eggstravaganza happens at Ripley's Aquarium on Saturday before Easter.  Enjoy crafts, games, prizes, and get your photo with the Easter Bunny.
