Elvis Presley - one of the entertainment industry's biggest names!!  From top music hits to classic movie favorites, this multi-talented superstar continues to be a household name!  If you are one of those who appreciate the "king of rock n' roll's" legendary classics, you'll be awe-stricken by the Main Event Theater's Doug Thompson!  This award winning professional does a salute to Elvis Presley unlike anything you've ever seen before!  Because he has been doing Elvis impersonations since the age of six, you can be sure he really knows his stuff!

Doug Thompson's salute to Elvis Presley is remarkable.  He has the same smooth, deep voice along with those famous "rock star" moves!  It's a dynamic show the whole family will enjoy from beginning to end.  This state-of-the-art presentation is filled with interesting stories, funny jokes, and last, (but not least) an amazing voice that steals your breath away! 

The first half is dedicated to Elvis's music and movie hits from the 50's and 60's.  Doug appears in black pants and a stylish jacket to reflect the dress of the era.  He begins his act with beautiful gospel hits before moving into other familiar tunes like King Creole, Treat Me Right, Treat Me Like A Fool, and Viva Las Vegas.  After a fifteen (15) minute intermission Thompson bounces back on stage in a flashy, regal-like jumpsuit and rocks the stage with 1970's hits like Burning Love, Hound Dog, Teddy Bear, My Way, and more!  

It's during the second half of the show that our veterans, and those who serve in our military are acknowledged and shown appreciation for their great sacrifices.  As a tribute, Doug sings "American Trilogy."  As those powerful words echo throughout the theater, the audience stands proudly in honor of our brave soldiers and the American flag.  

Doug Thompson's "Salute to Elvis Presley" is an award-winning tribute you'll want to see over and again.  This awe-inspiring music artist and Country Legends entertainer travels throughout the nation performing!  He began his career singing at a small Baptist church when he was just a child.  He enjoyed being part of his school youth choir.   He grew up with a strong passion for music and particularly enjoyed listening to gospel greats and country legends.   One of his strongest traits is his love for other people.  He works hard in the Great Smoky Mountains area performing to raise money for charities such as "Relay for Life.  He enjoys performing during  local events for hospitals,veterans, parades, and more.  He's always looking for a worthwhile project to become involved with.  He aspires to one day perform in his own full gospel stage show!
